The International Alliance for Peace and Development calls for halting the Israeli crimes against Palestinians

The world’s most effective powers must pressure on their governments to cease the support of Israel

Teleghraph, Maat :The International alliance for peace and development witnessed through the past few weeks; the humanitarian tragedy that the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip currently suffer. The vast violations committed by the occupying forces against peaceful protestors who are calling for their right of return resulted in the killing of hundreds and thousands of others left wounded. That was due to the use of live ammunition, sniper weapons and variable types of bombs against the peaceful protests calling for legitimate rights recognized by the United Nations.

The international alliance reaffirms that the Israeli acts contradicts the international laws and UN resolutions and reflects Israeli’s disregard for its legal status as an occupying power, obligated to protect the population and ensure their welfare in accordance with the Geneva conventions, and in particular the Fourth Covenant on the protection of civilians’ rights, as well as the flagrant contradiction of Israeli practices with the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

Since March 2018, Israel has committed horrendous massacres against Palestinian citizens who protested peacefully at the border fence of the Gaza Strip to demand the right of return. Israeli forces had no consideration to children, disabled, women and young people, and have resorted to physical extermination using lethal weapons in a clear disregard of international laws.

The systematic Israeli violence was launched after the Palestinians organized the “Great March of Return” in protest against the transfer of the US Embassy to the occupied city of Jerusalem and the demand for the right of return. The Israeli occupation forces also used tear gas, rubber bullets and other types of live ammunition. Which resulted in the killing of more than 100 people, including, “Leila al-Ghandour”-eight-month-old baby girl-, died from tear gas, in a scene that reveals the international community’s neglect of the current events in Palestine, and the most martyrs who lost their lives were aged between 14 and 21 years, as well as the death of the disabled martyr on wheelchair.

The International Alliance for Peace and Development, based on its human rights background and its belief in peace, is bias towards the rights of oppressed and vulnerable people, and by trusting the UN resolutions as the only way to resolve the Palestinian issue; emphasizes on the following:

The UN is currently under a test against its capabilities to uphold human rights, achieve peace and implement its previous decisions, and to halt Israeli practices that are against all human rights considerations, such as war crimes, whose perpetrators must be brought to international criminal justice.

The mass power in the world and the nature of international and regional alliances in its present form; is an obstacle to achieving justice and the right of self-determination of the vulnerable people and specifically the Palestinian people, who for 70 years have been living a daily tragedy and losing more of their land and their future.

The unilateral decisions to change the legal status of the city of Jerusalem is like a spill of gasoline on the burning fire, and provide reasons and motives used by advocates of violence and extremism in the practice of terrorism, and therefore the alliance completely rejects any arrangements for the transfer of embassies to the city of Jerusalem.

Thus, the International Alliance for Peace and Development calls on parties, civil and media forces as well as civil organizations all over the world to mobilize their efforts and tools to communicate with policy makers and decision-making powers in their countries, in order to take an action to stop the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people and to make it clear what makes some governments take diplomatic and political positions in favor of a state that violates human rights on a daily basis, refuses to comply with Security Council resolutions and rejects to follow international law.

The International Alliance for Peace and Development also calls on the major powers, especially the United States, to review their acts in support of Israel and justifying their crimes and to stop the use of veto that facilitates Israel’s impunity and to immediately reverse its unethical decision to transfer the US Embassy to occupied Jerusalem contradicting UN resolutions.

Finally, the International Alliance for Peace and Development calls on the United Nations Human Rights Council to develop its mechanisms to monitor and counter Israeli human rights violations, to activate the Human Rights Council resolution S-28/1,which was adopted on 18 May 2018 through the 28th special session of the Human Rights Council on the deteriorating human rights situation in the occupied Palestinian territory including East Jerusalem, and to invite all UN human rights bodies and special rapporteurs to adopt the findings of the report and to confront Israel in front of all UN bodies and forums.
