Oman National Post Company and Fetchr first in the Middle East to revolutionize traditional postal delivery
The Sultanate of Oman, October 25, 2017-(AETOS Wire): fetchr, a delivery-business and consumer technology app dedicated to disrupting shipping by eliminating the need for a traditional address, using its patented mobile technology solutions, today announced that it has collaborated “in a first of its kind” joint venture with the Oman National Post Company, introducing, ERSAL.
Oman National Post Company will be the first public post entity in the Middle East to revolutionize its last mile delivery postal service by enabling delivery access via mobile (in contrast to the traditional requirement of a physical address).
“We’re thrilled to be collaborating with fetchr, and be the pioneers in this region and offer our citizens and residents the latest and best in technology and delivery service,” said Abdulmalik Al Balushi, CEO,Oman National Post Company.
Fetchr, the five-year-old startup, tackles delivery challenges in emerging markets, where streets often lack a formal address. Customers can download the app and pinpoint their location on a Google map, allowing Fetchr drivers to rely on GPS to deliver packages.
“It’s all about having the logistics company being able to find the customers, we’re changing that paradigm, making sure it’s the job of the logistics company to find you and eliminate the need to stay home for six hours waiting for a delivery,” commented Idriss Al Rifai, CEO, fetchr
The launch event of Ersal took place under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications.
ERSAL will enjoy direct access to the GCC countries through the fetchr network.
Fetchr has presence in Jordan, Egypt, UAE, KSA and Bahrain and soon will launch its operations in Kuwait and Pakistan.
