At the beginning of the ceremony, Majid Rajabi Memar, managing director of Iranian Artists Forum, welcomed the audience and said: “Iran is a country of different cultures, languages, dialects and religions. Iranians have always respected all cultures throughout their thousand years of history.”
Hojatollah Ayoubi, Secretary General of the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO, said: “We asked the youths of our country to help us register Hawraman in the list of UNESCO World Heritage, and I think this registration is a new movement.”
He continued: “this beautiful exhibition is held by cooperation of many people, especially Mr. Rajabi Memar, who is the host of this exhibition, and I thank everyone for their effort and support.
Referring to the characteristics of Hawraman, Secretary General of the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO explained about the beauties of the region.
Then, Mohammad Hassan Talebian, Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism, thanked the organizers of the event and said: “I would like to thank Dr. Ayoubi for his significant contribution to the cultural fields.”
He continued: “regarding Hawraman, I have to say that it is important that anyone knows the values of these beautiful areas. I also would like to thank Mr. Rajabi Memar and Hossam Mahdi. Hossam Mahdi is our dear brother. He was in Hawraman for 12 days, which led to a beneficial exchange of experience for us.”
Talebian explained: “the process of global registration and organizing “Hawraman: Fringing the sky” exhibition is important. It is about five and six years that everyone has been helping to prepare the dossier of Hawraman at UNESCO. And fortunately, people are aware of this important event and help us, and in fact, they love their region.”
Talebian said: “this region can be registered, because this process is implemented according to international standards, and it can put Hawraman in the center of global attention for many years.”
He said: “this exhibition will definitely have a large audience and I am sure it can enhance the cultural perspective of the region.”
Saifollah Samadian, secretary of the Image of the Year Festival said: “I am happy for three reasons; the first one is that because we are holding this exhibition here, and the second reason is that I am cooperating with Dr. Ayoubi for the second time. He started the “Art and Experience” group, which was one of the successful measures, and thirdly, I am glad that the photographers went to Hawraman and organized this exhibition.”
At the end of the ceremony, Hossam Mahdi, the Egyptian evaluator of UNESCO, explained: “Before coming here, I had heard about Iranian artists and I was impressed, but now I am deeply impressed by their art. If I had come to this exhibition before going to Hawraman, I would have thought that photographers had changed their photos by Photoshop, but now that I have seen Hawraman, I think that these images only reflect part of Hawraman’s beauty, and Hawraman is much more beautiful.”
He continued: “during my trip, I came across an old man, he became emotional and hugged me, which surprised me. As friends have said, cultural landscapes are a combination of tangible and intangible heritage and Hawraman consists of the components of tangible and intangible heritage. I am very happy and proud to be here and to see Hawraman. I wish you all the success.”
