Mohamed Al-Faramawi writes: Political leadership and October celebrations

The anniversary of the October victory is an important milestone in political history, and political leaders have taken the opportunity to celebrate this achievement with great enthusiasm. This victory, which marked Egypt’s victory over Israel during the 1973 Yom Kippur War, was a pivotal moment that not only strengthened Egyptian sovereignty, but also raised the country’s international standing.

The political leadership recognizes the importance of this event because it brought much-needed unity among Egyptians and strengthened their determination to progress and development. As they celebrate this important milestone, political leaders use their platforms to emphasize the importance of national pride, resilience, and patriotism.

They highlight how this victory symbolizes Egypt’s firm determination to protect its land and people while serving as a reminder of the sacrifices made by its brave soldiers. Moreover, these celebrations provide an opportune moment for political leaders to mobilize public support and foster a sense of collective purpose towards further progress in various sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and national security.

The political leadership witnessed, on Wednesday evening, the thirty-eighth educational symposium in celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the glorious October victories. The symposium witnesses documentary films, artistic and musical performances and in honor of the families of the martyrs, the injured and the heroes of the armed forces. At the beginning of the new school year, and in celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the brilliant October victories, the armed forces honored a number of martyrs’ sons, and many home visits were organized for the families of the armed forces.

Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel-Al announced in a statement on Tuesday that all parks in Cairo will provide free access to the public on Friday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the victory of the October War. In addition, up to 550 events will be held in Cairo and other Egyptian governorates to commemorate the anniversary, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.
