‘He’s okay. He just can’t remember who I am!’ Dejan Lovren gives injury update on ‘monster’ Mo Salah

Sport News – Teleghraph : Liverpool defender Dejan lovren has given an injury update on Mo Salah after the latter suffered a concussion in Saturday’s game against Newcastle, joking that the Egyptian striker “can’t remember” who the Croatian was.

Salah was stretchered off with seventy three minutes gone in the game at St. James’ Park with the score at 2-2 after suffering a head injury when colliding with Magpies goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, leaving worried fans fearing for the safety of the current Premier League top scorer.

His replacement, Divock Origi, ironically came on to net a late winner just four minutes from time to hand his side a 3-2 victory. Salah had earlier restored Liverpool’s lead with their second goal after Christian Atsu cancelled out a Virgil van Dijk opener. Salomon Rondon had equalized for the home side.

Lovren, who took the place of Joel Matip in the match, took to Instagram to wish his friend a speedy recovery after the match.

“Wishing Mo Salah a quick recovery. We need you back soon my friend.” We keep fighting,” he wrote.

When asked by a fan if he had any information on Salah’s condition, Lovren quipped: “Yes he is ok. Just can’t remember who I am. Don’t worry he will be fine. Mo is a monster.”

Salah could be a doubt for Liverpool’s last two games of the season as the Reds take on Barcelona in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday, before the league leaders play Wolves at home next Sunday.
