Chinese reporter keens on expansion of mutual cultural ties with Iran
Zahra Behbin – Teleghraph : A Chinese reporter believes that Iran International Film Festival for Children and Youth can be employed as a good opportunity to introduce Iranian culture to the Chinese children.
In an interview with reporter of the festival’s news headquarters, Lei Xiangping, a reporter of CCTV, stated that the great interest of Chinese kids in cartoons, bearing in mind that watching Iranian programs specialized for children can lead to positive influence on their mental growth.
Xiangping indicated his satisfaction for attending in this festival.

Would you please give me your idea about this international festival?
There are a lot of common cultural features between Iran and China; however, Chinese children do not know Iranian people and they think you are European or American. So, it is an exceptional venue to introduce the Iranian culture to Chinese children.
What is your opinion about the themes of Iranian children films?
The themes of these films are very significant for children’s development, health, and growth. This festival has positive influence on the growth of children.
How do you evaluate Chinese children’s interest in cartoons?
Chinese families hold a very strong control on their children. So, watching cartoons is like escaping from daily life. For that reason, watching different themes bring them great happiness. Chinese children like fiction cartoons, and imaginary themes, not real ones.
Are Chinese children interested in Iranian cartoons?
No, most of Chinese cartoons are native or from Japan.
If festival officials would invite Chinese managers and cartoon producers to this festival, this could be a very good opportunity to introduce Iranian cartoons to Chinese children.
I have seen “Dirin Dirin”, I like it very much and its producer is my friend. It would be very good if this cartoon could have Chinese or at least English subtitles (language barriers).
